Greetings,

Quick message ping just checking if there is anyone else on the list. I sent out a
request over a week ago and haven't seen any posts from the list including my own.

I need some assistance setting up a delphi environment.

Thanks,
Shane

Yes, there are some people here. Do you have specific questions about setting up delphi? Make sure you have Delphi 7, and then you'll need to install the TnT stuff, as well as a couple of other things. It should be pretty easy to figure out what's missing if you just try to compile and see what breaks.

If you wouldn't mind, as you are figuring all of that out, could you keep notes, so we can build a HOWTO page?

PGM is out for a couple of days; he may have a document like this already, but it would be nice if someone volunteered to keep it up to date.

I do not have Delphi 7. Is it free? The borland site says that it is but the download is
for a trial version. Are any other ides supported? I installed bloodshed's dev-pascal ide
but I am not sure if I would be able to use it as I would need to install the indy
componenbts ( from the CVS readme).

That leads me to: what are the 'indy' components and where do I get them?

Thanks.

Indy "is an Open Source project that maintains several active projects
which grew out of the original Indy Sockets project". Take a look at
<http://www.indyproject.org/>.

To download the Indy components for Delphi take a look at
<http://www.indyproject.org/download/Borland.html>.
